"I have been buying these protein bars for years. They were the best taste and texture bars I could find. Loved that bar was whole food based with multiple protein sources. These bars were soft and would break off with each bite. New formula is absolutely terrible. Typical protein powder mixed with glycerin to create a chewy paste formed into a bar, then disguised with the same candy bar-like coating on the outside. Won't be buying again. Very disappointed."

What a shame. . .

"The old MRE bars were so much better. I'm someone who used to eat these bars religiously (I'm talking buying 10 boxes at a time). I hadn't had them in a while and decided to get a few boxes of my favorite flavors (oatmeal chocolate chip and cookie dough) and I am sorely disappointed. Sure they reduced the calories and kept the same amount of protein, but they taste nothing like they did before, they are smaller, and they don't use the same whole food formula that set them apart from other protein bars. And why does oatmeal chocolate chip have a white coating like it's cookies n cream? I can only assume the new ingredients and downsized bar make them cheaper to produce, but the price hasn't changed. I can't imagine anyone who enjoyed this product before the change is happy about this in any way. It really is just a shame."
