"New and Improved"

"What is supposed to be "new and improved" about the new recipe? You literally get less sustenance per serving compared to the older version, all the while paying the same price. They even dropped in a larger scoop, so less servings. Did Redcon1 just give their original customer base the finger? Honestly I feel like I am being insulted with the "New and Improved" recipe."

New and "Improved?"

"MRE is my go to for protein shakes. However, I am confused by the "New and Improved" version. I fail to see how it is new and improved if the new version actually is providing less protein, less carbs, and less caloric value per serving than the previous version. All the while paying at least the same price. What is new and improved about it? Please break it down for me."

Product went from 5 stars to 1 star this year

"The original version was amazing. Primary carb source was rolled oats. Made the texture gritty, but who cares?! People who want a pleasant meal - go cook real food. Rolled oats are a complex carbohydrate and have a low glycemic index, giving you a steady energy supply for hours after consumption. BUT. . . the new version has maltodextrin. MALTODEXTRIN!!!! What a joke. Terrible ingredient: it has a glycemic index higher than straight glucose!!! So it spikes your blood sugar like crazy. And scientific studies indicate it can negatively impact gut health. Redcon1, shame on you. I've been a loyal customer for years, but I guess that's over now. I'll be back when the rolled oats return and the maltodextrin is out."

Poor business model

"Used to be great. I’ve been using for years. Now it has less protein, carbs, calories and servings. The taste is also weird now. I just paid $89. 99 for this at GNC. Absolutely ridiculous, I’ll be switching products. Good job guys."

Formula Change Ruined the Flavor

"Previously I had enjoyed the Fudge Brownie which had 25 servings and more calories. Now this so called "new and improved" version has 24 servings and less calories which isn't ideal for my bulk. However, the main issue is the flavor. I am absolutely shocked at the difference in taste. I thought maybe I got the wrong flavor or brand for a moment. I'm not sure what you guys did but this completely changed my opinion on this brand. I don't think I'll be purchasing any more of this product in the future unfortunately, unless there is a change."

Changed Recipe, Turned flavor horrible and chemica

"Horrible recipe change, seemed to change manufactures and recipe to save a buck, in turn my favorite protein powder now taste like literal chemicals, horrible after taste, give us back the old recipes! There was nothing wrong with them! So upset, always bought in bulk just to buy a new round of bulk to find it all taste horrible, genuinely thought it had gone bad until I asked other people"

Ani (1/5)

Why would you change the formula

"Ive been getting this for a long time, whether it be from them, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe or just through Amazon. When you read these reviews about how nasty it is now, you best believe it. It was great, I'm sure they are just trying to do it a cheaper way, which results in a cheap outcome. Ill be looking elsewhere, which sucks because it WAS so good man."

Used to be great!

"I have been using MRE Peanut butter Sugar Cookie for over two years and was extremely happy with the taste and mixability. I recently received a package and what an awful change. It no longer mixes well, it if very grainy or gritty and has a weird aftertaste. Will be looking for something different! So disappointed in the change."

Dan J. (1/5)

I Don’t like maltodextrin.

"I liked the formula with beef protein and without maltodextrin."
